Battle between castles , 2008 | Client: Ferrol Hoy Magazine.

This is a matte painting for a magazine. It´s a fictional recreation of a fictional battle that would take place at the Ferrol Estuary in 18 th Century. The boats enemies inside in the estuary but find that they are unable to go through the huge chain stretching from the Castle of San Felipe to Castle of La Palma. The galleons receiving gunfire from both sides, destroying the enemy fleet. In fact this battle, in this place, it never happened. But the chain, rather chains, it existed. This is a matte painting of the Castle of San Felipe, about 1791. I´m making some mattes about the historical buildings of the place where I live in, Ferrol, Spain. Actually Ferrol is candidate to become a Heritage for Humanity by UNESCO.
